Before your appointment:

  • Make sure your face is clean and free of makeup

  • Drink lots of water within the 24 hours prior to your appointment to help keep your skin hydrated

  • Avoid caffeinated beverages as these can increase sensitivity​

  • Stop using retinol or retinoid creams at least 7 days prior to treatment

  • ​Advise your electrologist of any new medications or skincare items you are currently using before each treatment

  • Let your hair grow out 1/8" or 2mm. This is usually two to three days worth of growth. Hair needs to be long enough to grab with a pair of tweezers after being treated

  • Exfoliating the day of your treatment will help remove debris and dead skin from the opening of your follicles. This will allow for smoother insertions

  • If you are sensitive to treatment you may take Tylenol or Ibuprofen to help minimize discomfort

It's important note that redness and swelling after treatment is normal and usually resolves within a few hours for most people. However, for people with sensitive skin, it may take a few days to resolve. Following aftercare protocols is crucial to ensure proper healing of the skin. It helps to prevent infections and other complications that may arise during the healing process. By following these protocols, you can ensure that skin heals properly and looks its best.

After your appointment:

  • Avoid sun exposure to the treated area for at least 48 hours​​

  • ​Icing the area may help reduce pain, redness or swelling

  • Avoid exfoliating the area until it is fully healed. Gentle cleansing is advised

  • Avoid touching the treated area for at least 24 hours

  • Use only medicated makeup on the treated area only if necessary

  • Antibiotic ointment can help speed up the healing process and avoid infection of the treated are

  • Do not pick off scabs if they should form. This is part of the natural healing process and they will fall off when healed

  • If underarms were treated avoid using deodorant for at least 48 hours. Use Sea Breeze or Witch Hazel instead to help with odor
